We tried the auto-post bot thingy, a few years back. It doesn't work well. I was gonna do something with Firemites but I can't figure how to do it without hammering the board.
The problem is that it has to do regular board scans, for responses and keywords. Then it has to post on a passworded account. The latter isn't too difficult, I already have to code for that (on my old Linux box, in storage/shippment). However, the former point is a real board killer. In reality, it needs to be on the same server, as a server-side script.
As noted before, it then gets way too impersonal. |
