Old Sturbridge Village is not really especially close to Boston, since it is in the western part of Massachusetts. However, if you go straight north before you get to New York City, you could go through Buffalo (Niagara Falls), then take the busses along the NY Thruway and into Massachussetts on the Mass. Turnpike, which will take you past Sturbridge.

And conveniently, if you are in the neighborhood, there are a lot of Ufies along that path. :-)
