As I said, I went to America before, and on the internal flight (Florida to NYC) I got 'randomly' searched. As did my father. And mother. And sister. And the two others there who were also English. The guards there said it was a random search (they were actually told by a machine, so it wasn't their fault) but at least they had the decency to look embarissed!
Anyway - no harm done, and if it does some good then fair enough. Without trying to start anything, I do wonder if it's all worth it, though, especially after the whole thing with the guy with bullets in his pockets. I never heard anything about that after the event - anyone got any up to date news?
