| on a few distros, and I think most of them support it at this point. As to whether you need it, I don't know. Personally, I use ext3 (switched over when it was in late beta), but reiserfs has some neat fault tolerance systems too - completely atomic file operations (an operation is performed completely or not at all), which offers (I think, at least) a similar avoidance of fsck'ing after a crash. There's a new version of reiser coming up soon - you might want to try that at some point, as it's the fastest around. You can try the betas at namesys' site if you're feeling adventurous - I hear it's fairly stable, but namesys of course recommends you wait for the release. |
