Notation on Star Wars ep 7, 8 and 9 ...	by subbywan	2004-01-15 14:51:51
Read the thread yesterday and the /. posting today ... The article states that Mayhews contract says he has to appear in Ep 7, 8 and 9. That's to be expected as SW was supposed to be a 9 movie series. As for the movies afterwards ... There are only 2 ways they can do it without being lynched and boycotted: 1) Adapt the books. SEeing as the books start the day after the Battle for Endor, there's no lee-way for them to slip the story in without it being based on the books, or 2) write it about the Jedi kids, taking places in a timeline after the ones reported in the current books. If they tried to make a movie that diverged from the current story as it's known, they'd lose pretty much everyone aside from those who go just to see the special effects.
