Illiad you finally got me by DesertRat662004-01-15 14:15:55
Wow! Thanks dude! by Illiad 2004-01-15 14:22:44
And to answer your question, upgrading is usually based off buying a no-frills no-ads only sponsorship. If you buy one then later upgrade to Minion (for example), you pay the Minion rate minus the USD$36.00. This doesn't extend your no-ads period, but you get the spiffs appropriate to the level.

IIRC, buying a higher tier (say from Minion to EG) gets you the spiffs and tacks on another year to your no-ads period, but you pay full price. I think. It's been a while since I talked to Yohimbe about the transaction rules. It may be that if you have a no-ads period currently active, $36 is simply deducted from the cost of whatever the tier level is and you get the spiffs without any additional time tacked on to the no-ads period.

Clear as mud? Judging from comments about you as a sniper in ET, I'm rather hoping I can obfuscate like that during a game. :)
