  Adding non-default maps by Kickstart2004-01-15 12:20:22

Firstly, integrating maps into a campaign calls for a custom pk3 that is a pain to built. I have done it before and used to run a very custom map rotation with almost none of the default maps included.

However, this time around we have many more newbs and its always a good idea to have them learn the ropes on the default maps. Another issue is that when something changes on the server, everything has to change. I have to update the stats parser config, as well as change the php arrays in the 'whos on' script i wrote to reflect the true map names rather than the pk3 names.

Yes another issue brought up was the fact that if we lengthen the campaigns some people will have WAY much experience. We already have people getting akimbos in a 3 map campaign, if it becomes 6 maps they will be so high up there, mines wont even work against them (they will be able to see them)

So, any which way you cut it, changing the maps equals pain for me...not really you, all you have to do is download them and unzip em in your etmain directory...but me, well, i'll spend probably an hour working on em for every 10 minutes you do :)
