"Williams was executed for shooting Leoma Chmielewski in the face during a robbery in her home.
Williams professed his innocence in a death row interview with The Associated Press last month, saying he was in Chmielewski's house the night she died but left before she was killed.
"
I am assuming that he was proven guilty "beyond a reasonable doubt". However, the statement above indicates that nobody *saw* him commit the crime.
Did he rob her? Well, he admits he was there, so yes.
Did he kill her, or was there a 'Fugitive'-style one-armed man who framed him for the murder, having seen him enter&exit and realizing that the perfect murder could be committed? I would tend to think the former, but there is a difference between "beyond a reasonable doubt" and "absolute certaintly supported by incontravertible evidence in the form of eye-witnesses, DNA, video surveillance, etc.", IMOSHO.
