per the Atkins book (with about 6 footnotes to sources), high protien diets don't overload kidneys. the only kidney associated problem with high protien diets is people that already have kidney problems.
as for the exercise, i'm a security guard and the patroll of the 8 story building takes about an hour of walking around, i was just proud of myself for going up the stairs instead of taking the elevator to the top and walking down. the other buildings i have to patroll both include necesary walking up stairs, not to mention the walk between buildings, around parking lots, etc.
all in all i'd say i get a fair amount of exercise, much moreso than if i was one of the desk guards just sitting down for 8 hours. |
