installing gentoo on new computer by varikin 2006-11-19 12:23:33
I have a new computer -
amd 64 fx-51
512mb ram
asus sk8v mb
maxtor 160g sata harddrive
belkin 54g wlan (f5d7000)
ati radeon 8500 128m agp video card

i am installing gentoo, doesnt find my wlan card, found a driver to try from qotdsubmit at this domain>linuxant but havent tried it yet, as anyone tried one of these before

but my bigger problem, the harddrive. are SATA drive not found under /dev/hda? my cdrom is under there, where would it be? I am not doing a raid configuration just a single sata drive. Oh by the way, BIOS does correctly find the drive. No problems anywhere in BIOS with drives or such
