is what I usually call it. The word "prevention" makes people think you are trying to prevent crimes by others by making examples of the executed offenders. Then they set upon you trying to prove that doesn't work.

I totally agree with what you say here.

In a nutshell, there is nothing wrong with the concept of death penalty, but there is plenty wrong with how it is currently implemented in US.
