some people of both genders (and surprisingly it's more prevalent in men) will do just about anything to please an aloof partner. The more he (or she) pulls back or abuses them the more they want to correct their behavior to match his (or her) standards. If such a person finds himself or herself with a decent partner who understands the need then they can have a lot of fun with alternative lifestyles--unfortunately such people are easy targets for abusers.
