In that you don't have to actively do anything. For many, it offers weight loss without working for it - it's akin to a free lunch in that you don't have to earn it by sweating and hurting at the gym for months.
If you want some fruit, you could check out the South Beach diet. It's a more refined Atkins. Whereas Atkins cuts out carbs altogether, the South Beach diet only cuts out refined carbohydrates, such as those found in processed sugars, white flour and rice, and that sort of thing, and it gives just about the same results.
Have I tried it? No, and I don't intend to. I know that I can lose weight and maintain a healthy body by exercising more, and I still don't have to give up dinner rolls and chocolate milk. But if diets are your cup of tea, it's worth a look, and from what I can tell much easier to live with than Atkins. |
