My favorite rock star was Jimi Hendrix and he was dead before I "discovered" him. (ok, I also really dug Marc Bolan from T.Rex, but I don't like to admit it). I was too much of a geek/nerd back then (playing the cello and all), so I tended more to the symponic rock and British bands (King Crimson, Yes, ELP, for example). And of course, Paul McCartney won my heart when I was 6 years old.
