...our "justice" system often comes down to revenge and a need for a scapegoat. Jail and punish someone, anyone that looks like "they deserve it."

That used (?) to be blacks, Jews and gays, and probably still is in many parts of the world. It makes my stomach turn to think that there are people out there so filled with anger and hate that as long as someone "pays," guilty or not, it's a-okay.
