Since you play guitar, pick a note on the guitar in your singing range. "Tune" your voice to that pitch, taking as much time as you need to get it right. Then do the same pitch again. And again. Then move on to another and do the same thing. Then go back to the first. Then do a third. Keep going around through various pitches, always taking enough time to match it "right" and then repeating it at least once immediately once you've got it "right".
Eventually you'll get the hang of it. It's sort of automatic... just like you don't think about the individual muscles necessary to move your arm, you just will your arm to move, you don't think about the way you know how to hit the note, you just will it.
Last thing: You need to be able to hear the note you're trying to hit in your head. If you don't know your target, you can't hit it. |
