is that there can be no more than one DHCP server per subnet. If another one shows up then they both can go down. You really have no need for DHCP anyway, with statically assigned IPs.

If you really want the firewall features then simply enable the DHCP RelayAgent functions or kill DHCP altogether and set the router to bridge and not route.
