To all the singers out there by Romnin 2004-01-13 18:06:17
I've been trying to teach myself to sing. I have a decent voice, but my singing is horrible, I'm always way off pitch. I've been using a tape recorder to try to hit pitches better for about a week now and it's not helping. Though I admit I haven't practiced quite as much as I could have.

Is there something I'm supposed to listen for in order to hear the pitch I'm singing at? How can I just match a pitch? Is it something you feel in your throat? Does it just come with practice? (I'm not tone deaf, just to rule that out, I've been playing bass for about a year and a half now, I find it quite easy to tune by ear.)
