Aaaah! Help! by Egaeus 2004-01-13 16:39:28
Anyone who knows anything about video surveillance systems please help. My thesis advisor is involved with a project related to building security. I've been given the task of coming up with a list of equipment that we need to purchase to test different configurations of video camera surveillance systems. By Thursday. I know next to nothing about video surveillance. We want a network of cameras (it's a rather large building), so we're thinking maybe firewire, or ethernet (if available) to connect the cameras. Some type of encrypted wireless for local groups of cameras that would communicate a wired central node is also a possibility. Does anyone know where I should begin (no google remarks) or have any recommendations? No, I'm not going to use X10, so don't even suggest it. :) Thanks!
