It is our interpretations that differed, and I wasn't even aware of that until you told me so.
Your response was the less helpful response based on My interpretation of the question. I thought I stated that clearly enough. True, the original statement was based on a faulty assumption that we were responding to the same interpretation, but I didn't carry the error forward.
Of course my answer can be more helpful then an answer to a totally different question. If I answer the question asked, and you for some reason choose to answer some irrelevant answer, then my answer will be more helpful, assuming of course, that my answer isn't wrong. ;-)
