Mankind is not a rational animal, but a rationalizing one.

We have the opinions we have because that's how we feel like. If someone asks us why, we will rationalize our stance.

If we can't rationalize our stance, we may have to change it, at least as far as we what we show the world.

Freud would call it the struggle between the subconscious and the id. I don't.
