The porpoises (and the dolphins) said to Arthur Dent, before a probe came to earth and started vaporizing the oceans looking for humpback whales, which was then destroyed by the Death Star in order to make way for a new hyperspace bypass; but then Arthur activated the infinite improbability drive and two humpback whales appeared in a Klingon Bird of Prey just in time to blow up the Death Star and send Darth Vader spiraling away to come back and fight another day.
