Help on: Grayscalemap dependend blur by esger2004-01-13 04:26:28
It can't really be done. by Tomo 2004-01-13 04:31:51
You can do it using three layers, one the original, one blurred and the other a transparency using the grayscale as the alpha channel.

However, it won't look very good.

When you say "rendered", do you mean that you've got a model in 3DS MAX or similar that you're trying to produce a nice image of?

If that's the case, do it during the render in 3DS MAX.
Give us a moment and 'll look up the settings you'll need for it.
