| Right, the big eyes came from selective breeding, humans being the selectors. Not sure how that becomes "it's impossible to give an animal big eyes". The breeding was done for the pleasure of the breeders and the owners, not for the dogs' health or well being. Ergo it's no surprise that it resulted in unhealthy characteristics for the dogs.
If your point is that the selective breeding was done because of ignorance, not cruelty, your point is well taken. A LOT of cruelty is done because of that. However, breeders these days know perfectly well the problems that Pugs and other breeds have. They also know that there's a huge dog and cat overpopulation. Yet they keep breeding. Ignorance is no excuse there even if it ever was. |
