OS: Gentoo 1.4
GUI: Pekwm
Theme: Aqua-t
Apps:
Eterm in shaded mode. While this looks all blue because it is in the background (ie not in focus) it normally has the white osx type background for the titlebar and from left to right the glass bubbles are red, green and yellow.
GKrellM. This is on the left hand side. It also sports an aqua theme. What gkrellm is showing that is built in is the date, eth0 activity, memory, mount/umount for cdrom/floppy, and the uptime. What are plugins that I've added are: gkrellsun(whos sunrise/set and other info on click), gkrellmoon(similar to the sun app but also graphically shows moon phase), bubblefishymon(the fish show network traffic, bubbles are cpu activity, and water level is memory or something...), volume control, lock/shoot for screencaptures, and finally gkrellm reminder.(to remind my son of appointments or things he needs to do)
From left to right on bottom of the screen are:
wmMatrix(really just eye candy)
shermans aquarium(well it is eye candy with a clock)
wmcalc
wmpinboard(tiny post it notes)
wmappl(an app lanucher but I need to add more things to it to launch)
gqmpeg(tho this can be docked it's not. It's a graphical front end to mpg123 and it is sporting the "cool" skin which looks like a dock app)
wmBiff(this keeps track of up to 7 email accounts right now it's only tracking the one pop account my son has)

And it's name is salem and it's alive... :) If your wondering why the mac stuff... My son really likes mac's and if he had his dream machine it would be a g5... I can't afford a g5 tho but this is what I can give him. :) Oh and he's got setting running in the background as a daemon... xpenguins(I'll screenshot those things playing later same with xsimpsons) and right now just remembered I need to see if mplayer has an aqua skin. :) |
