Re-read my post, more specificially the part that says "port forwarding is trivial with ssh" SSH is ALOT more than just encrypted telnet... you can transfer files over it ala SFTP, forard ports around (ala exactly what you want to do), forward x-window apps around (well, the display for the apps)
