Does Christmas make anyone else sad? by lord_dolphin2003-12-21 00:59:59
ya, christmas just lost its magic for me by fraek 2003-12-21 02:45:15
It was two years ago, I can't really remember why, but I didn't feel the same christmas spirit anymore. Last year was just pretty bad.

I remember the girlfriend I had last christmas, and the one I wanted for this christmas but didn't work out. And the fact that those are the only two girls I've ever even tried for.
I think of my friends. or those I can call such if I use the term rather loosely. How I probably won't see any of them over the break from school.

and then there's the shopping for presents for a family I don't really know. I see most of them almost everyday, and I can't think of something to get them.

I like buying gifts for people. I like spending money, and I usually spend quite a bit on presents. I just don't like how it's done, with the christmas rush, taking four trips to the mall to decide, waiting 10 minutes to find a parking space every time....

But I like the season. I like the snow. It's fun to have everyone shouting "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Holidays" every time you see them. There's little things to be happy about, even if I don't like the holiday.

(and having my mother equating christmas to a 'family duty' when suggesting that I just opt out of the holiday completely next year didn't help me like it any more)
