Facts Of The Day... Yet another "Did you know" TLP
1)
In 1973 the national anthem of Bhutan was played more often than anytime before, because in that year this state released a postal stamp which was printed on a foil (made of plastic), which contained a groove with the national anthem, so you could play it on any record player.
2)
In 1951 a German manufacturer got stuck with his VW Beetle in a snowbank somewhere in a forest. When he looked out of his window, he saw a deer walking by. He said to himself "Gee, everyone should see this idyll." And so he invented the snow dome.
3)
Since 1999 the Colosseum in Rome gets illuminated for 48 hours, when in a country somewhere in the world the death penalty is repealed. This happened only once (1999), and it was in Albania. |
