| In my case, it is a matter of health. |

I'm stuck with this insanely high metabolic rate, such that if I do any exercise whatsoever, I need to consume over 10000kCal/day. Vitamin deficiencies and such are common for those who abstain from meat, and must be met.
Try doing that when your body demands five times the food intake. Multivitamins? Just one... well, better than nothing. But still not enough for my body. Several... oops, just got a near lethal dose of several items in there in order to meet my requirement for others.
Protein for rebuilding muscle material? Sorry, but I don't like those awful "milkshakes," and you'd have to be careful to find one not originating from animals.
I honestly feel better for a couple days after having significant doses of red meat, and basically have to listen to whatever cravings I have if I'm to retain my health. I'm still not doing that great, having frequent migraines and such, but I can commonly link that to not eating quite right. And I'm not talking about junk food either. Just not the right balance of otherwise "healthy" food items. |
