From what I have seen, A vegetarian lifestyle is hideously expensive in time and money, and is nutritionally delicate. The animal we kill, which is designed to subsist that way, gathers those nutients far more efficiently than an omnivore is designed to do. It makes better sense to eat the animal, which has those nutients we need in concentrated form.
