Given that, it makes sense to place the origin of our coordinate system at the center of the Milky Way. From there, defining east/west is trivial (west is clockwise and east is counterclockwise, when looking from GNP to GSP). Then we just need to add a third dimension, in/out, the meaning of which should be clear to anyone with a higher-than-room-temperature-IQ.
