I wasn't advocating smoking in any particular place. I was pointing out that most timnes smokers are banished outside, regardless of the weather, with zero shelter. No wonder they congregate in the doorways. Were you or I in that position we would have a strong temptation to say "sod the rules, I'm smoking where it's warm and dry."
That's just basic psychology and perfectly understandable. Especially since 75% of the cost of their habit is supposed to go to such facilities, among other things.
Now if you really want to get upset, note that most of the tax money collected from smokers, purportedly to offset their cost to society, is being used for everything but smoker support, and the taxes keep going up anyway. Now ask yourself if you really think smokers are so stupid as to not see that.
They are owed at least a token consideration. Nothing less is fair. That some are becoming resentful enough to become rebellious is quite understandable, IMHO. |
