And it means you are dragging the debate all over the board, as well.
Leaving someone free to vent their hatred unchallenged is exactly what the bad people want.
If you don't want to point out his offense, then don't. But you were telling others they shouldn't do it, either (and I can't help but think that's because you agreed with the offender).
Telling them to do it in another thread means _this_ thread should be untouchable. And it shouldn't.
If Bush were holding the body of his friend in his arms and pleading with us to attack the people who did it, I'd be moved. If he added something about "and all those Democrats and other liberals should just shut up and stop whining, because they are Communists who should be deported somewhere", then I'd probably start booing as loudly as I could. It's one thing to make an emotional appeal for justifiable reasons, but it's reprehensible to hide behind that while you take pot shots at your enemies.
And me booing in the woods won't make a sound. |
