Creativity and Synthesis does not follow a schedule (for example... my coding eureka at 0230 loacl time :-))
Personally, I'm a sprinter. I will work at a manic pace for a shorter time and average more productive output than my co-workers who plug away all day. It's because I let my sunbconscious work the problem. I've heard of a lot of coders that do this.

But the issue was really with the arbitrary enforcement of said policies and the wink wink nod nod invisible smoke breaks, unfairly shifting the burden of work.
