need suggestion for bb software by niwikki 2003-12-19 10:28:09
one of the campus organizations I'm webmastering wants a bulletin board for their members and alumni, so I'm looking for bb software (I don't care whether we have to host it or if it's hosted elsewhere) that's either free or reasonably priced that allows easy administration of members.

Here's one of the requirements: essentially, we want alumni members to be able to be lifetime members while student members have to join the organization every year (and only members would be able to view and post). Online registration should not allow reading and posting unless they also enter an assigned password.

I've looked at ezboard, but they apparently only have 1 password level - meaning if we wanted to assign a new password every year so the student members would have to join again to get the password, the alumni members would also have to enter a new password -- we'd prefer not to do that.

Anyone have any suggestions for other programs I should look at?
