the tactic approval of cmoking breaks but then the coming down on someone for reading during the same time periods. Equal enforcement of the policies indeed. The problem is that they DID enforce break times and hours as a MINIMUM. I used to hear of 35 hour weeks for a reason. 5 days a week, 8 hours a day with 1h hour paid lunch. now, a salaried position is expected to work ~50 hours a week, vacations are less and less, and the days of balancing extra hours with comp time are gone.
