All you really need to do is compact the foot a lot so it can't move at all, then it provides a lot of it's own support. Other than that, they just have a nice solid flat toe so you can ballance on them without needing to move your toes! There is a reason girls are forbidden to wear toes shoes until the bone structure of the foot is fully developed - the foot really does bear the bulk of the pressure. And those shoes are NOT just filled with foot. You also use a nice big wad of wool or soft cotton around the toe part. Why? To catch the blood so it doesn't leak through and stain the pretty pink satin shoe.
