yes, but if you really have to BUILD storage room for it, it looks like a one-time loss-of-an-arm. And why couldn't you re-use the real one? If it's a pot-sized one, and you light it with something that doesn't heat (string of LEDs, shiny decoration glittering in ambient light) you can go on re-using it. Outside christmas season, it can be a nice house-plant (porch-, garden- ...) which kind of solves your storage problem (except you won't leave it there alll year with the shiny stuff on it)
