...is one thing, but to sit idly by and watch as said dictator is known to commit brutal atrocities upon his/her own people through such 'niceties' as ethnic cleansing is extremely appalling.
You know, the world sat by and let Adolph Hitler's Germany get away with invading Poland, like the world could have done when Sadam Hussein's Iraq invaded Kuwait. If the US didn't force the issue, that is exactly what the world would have done, nothing.
I say it's better to be the 'Moral Police of the World' then to sit idly by ignoring the woes of the world and the woes of the world's people like some kind of heartless pompous <insert dirty word of choice here>. Do you remember your history? The world did that leading up to and during World War II. There were a HUGE number of Nazi sympathizers and anti-Semitic sentiment all over the US and the globe, that sentiment continued until after factual, as opposed to heresay, reports started making its way through the world of the atrocities that were being commited.
I want peace and respect across this planet as much as the next person, but that won't ever happen if those that also want that aren't willing to do anything other then just get the 'sad eyes' and ask those that won't provide peace and respect to stop. Those kind of people won't stop if all you do if give them the 'sad eyes', they only understand what they dish out and that is a giant boot in their hind quarters... |
