An old friend of mine from Connecticut who I haven't talked to in a while was killed a while ago - I just talked to his family and found out. You know what they said? That he was proud of what he was doing. That he knew after seeing those people that he was doing the right thing. Read these stories. All of them. Imagine living like that. And then tell me that what the coalition forces did was unnecessary. If the Iraqi people are going through turmoil, it can be no worse than what they've already gone through. We've lost 460 people. Their lives have bought a small measure of security and a large measure of hope for the future to millions. I can't think of a better testament to your memory. Click By the by, this thread is not a debate. If you want to whine and moan, Kickstart posts more than enough threads for you to do so. This thread is me getting fed up with the double talk of many on the liberal side that bemoan our casualties and call our army thoughtless butchers in the same breath. I don't care if you want to say "but that's not the reason Bush went in to Iraq." Whatever. The fact remains that a moral and responsible world should have taken Saddam out long, long ago. The impotent politicians and dictatorial mouthpieces of the U.N. ceased to have any claim to solid moral standing when it became known what this man was doing, and doing nothing to stop him, permanently.
