and have shoes that fit correctly, no, it doesnt hurt particularly. Your weight is actually on your leg muscles which are pulling upwards ...
I have been dancing most of the time since I was 4 ..dont do pointe any more tho ..
and guys do do pointe - its good for developing their feet so they can jump better.
