Here's how:

  • Go to the run menu, and type in "services.msc", minus the ""'s of course.
  • Look for a service called Messenger.
  • Right-click on it, hit stop, and then go to properties and set it to disabled.

    Messenger's sole purpose is to enable you to receive those messages. Although they're not originally intended to be used for ads, the service serves no other purpose.
    There.. I just saved you $30. *grin*
