When a popup/under on a site without any such text does the 1pixel trick, doesn't notify the user, doesn't place an entry in the installed programs list, and goes undetected without Adaware or Spybot, I don't consider that acceptance.

Granted, I've got Proxomitron on my system, but see my diary regarding family members I'm asked to support, but that want "features" that would require too much effort on their parts to selectively secure.

And that MS allowed the "Signed controls" defense to be so thoroughly compromised is just one more reason to hate them. Of course, Verislime had a major part in that, but MS apparently prefers to feign ignorance. Especially since it's so hard to explain to the average consumer, so they're unlikely to get much backlash.
