Classico ceasr salad dressing .5 carbs/ 3tbsp
kraft lite italian dressing .8 carbs/ 3tbsp
atkins bars which have 2-3g net carbs in pralines and cream flavour, mocha, coconut and chocolate. 60g bars.
Rye noodles less than 1 carb
one of the diet name brand pops had .001 carbs /glass
diabetic chocolate bars 14-24 carbs /40g bar net carbs around 2-3g
Some brand name stuff was within limits. Trick is finding things flour free which is almost more difficult than suger free. You can get full fat soy flour, rye flour, wheat gluten, and some other whole grains, as well as some wild rice.(stage 3)... it's the fiber that brings down the carb level. White bleached rice has less fiber too it and also I can tell you from cooking lots with it in past it has alot of starch to it. Health food stores are handy for somethings but also can be pricy. It's more simple to learn to substitute in recipes other items. There is a substitution list for the atkins diet at their website if I remember right and it's downloadable in pdf form(part of the carb calculator thing).
The sugar I'm suprised we can't consume on this diet is fructose. Fructose is berry sugar. Natural sugar that is handles/processed by the body diffrent than cane sugar. Some diabetics can consume berry suger but can't have cane sugar for cane one will make them ill.
Something to watch is alot of seasonings contain sugar. Oddly lawreys seasoned salt contains sugar as does real canadian superstores seasoned pepper.
You can eat creamed leaks, cream of leak soup(knorr has a carb rating on it's side for sauces and soups take a peak), clam chowder(minus the potatoes), and a variety of other things. :) Miso soup which is soybean based is ok as well. |
