mindset. My brother was one of them. He had gastric bipass surgery. Before that he claimed the doc said to just dial up his injector if he wanted something sweet, etc. He refused to eat a proper diet for diabetics instead he kept eating the same foods that made him over 350lbs at 6ft 3... that is with him doing things like splitting a whole loaf of bread in half and buttering both sides and eating it in one sitting or a huge bowl of salad that would normally feed 4(and feeds those for seconds perhaps)... some that weren't diabetics that become such are very stubborn on altering their diets even with threat of death over their heads. Also poor eating habbits and lifestyles in some cases such as my brothers can lead to diabetes. So the companies see there is a bigger market forming(diet controled diabetics, injection diabetics, and dieters)
