"here's a new craze that's sweeping the digital world!" click
Ok guys here's my take on this whole issue. There are two problems with this. The first is that with the rise in instant networks like this it will only be a matter of time before some genius equips these phones with the ability to transmit files via bluetooth either by hacking or by design. After that all a person has to do is write a virus, download it to their phone and start walking in public. The real problem arises when those infected take their phone home and transmit the data to their computer. Think about it, phones already have organizers, etc. With bluetooth, the phone can automatically transmit the day's notes, etc. to the computer were a program like Outlook will store it, organize it, and even run it without even asking.
The second problem I have is tied into the first. If someone were so inclined they could develop a digital bomb. Basically the idea is the same as above save for the fact that the phone, laptop, etc. is left in an area where instant moble networks form. The device waits for the network then transmits the data in mass to everyone connected. After a certian time the owner of the device comes back to collect the device or just leaves with it after hanging around for awhile. With devices becomeing cheaper everyday there may reach a point were the device is left permently.
