A Question of Values by Illiad2003-11-06 09:01:28

  • Backpacking in $Rugged.Mountain.Ranges
Actually, not so rugged and not so mountainy but as soon as I have the time and money I'm off to Iceland...
  • A hiking/camping trip in $Temperate.And.Green.Lands
As long as I don't have the time and money for Iceland, biking in Scandinavia does just fine (well, time's still an issue...). Scotland and Ireland would also come to mind and are on the list for future travels
  • Holing up at home with good books and food
Ah, a chance to get all those books read that scream for me every day. And the only kind of holiday I'd take that is actually sort of recreative... Problem is just that people have the tendency to bother you with work when you are at home...
  • A driving tour of $Foreign.Countries.With.Much.History
Though foreign cultures and esp. their history are quite interesting, my first and foremost traveling reason is to see the country (read: scenery/nature), not so much the people. Which doesn't mean I'd avoid contact. And I would certainly visit key historical/culture places. It's just that you'd more likely find me in an interesting nature reserve than in a museum.
  • An archaeological dig in $Some.Ancient.Place
More or less same reason as above.
You won't see me do the other two. First because they are boring, second because I have a problem with heat and don't like the mentioned climates. Plus, I really hate those tourist centers with all their mindless boozing/partying/animation stuff...
