as a person who have lived off of tips i was makeing 3.00 bucks an hour when i was bussing tables 5 years ago ( our manager paid me a little better because i was ALWAYS THERE and i did a lot more than buss tables ) i consistantly made my money on tips there was one caviat of the whole thing the doors into and out of the kittchen said if you get run over it is YOUR FAULT because i had to keep at a dead run most of the night to get the tables clear and run the dish room and set up the new tables as it was i was makeing 50 -100 bucks in tips a night was and is the best paying job ive ever had
