Depend upon the kind of BC you are on. From my understanding, while there are at least a dozen or so names for the medications that fall under the name of 'The Pill', they are really only two different effects. One pill keeps eggs from bursting out and entering the falopian tubes. This one is 'Approved' by many religous groups, but also features a nasty side-effect for some women in that when they stop taking this pill more then one egg can burst out for a month or two and it can be extremely painful to the point that they WILL double over in pain and feel like they are going to die. Each of these 'events' could last over several days time. The other pill simply keeps the fertilized egg from being able to attach to the inside wall. This is seen as 'Abortion' by many religious groups and thus this pill is unacceptable to them. I believe this is the kind of pill that the Planned Parenthood employee was explaining could be used in 'heavy' dosage. Of course, I am going by second hand knowledge given to me by an ex... I might have been fibbed to, I don't know.
