EPROMS are electronics interfacing with electronics. Smith can't mess with Bane's mind unless there is a direct physical/electronic interface between them. Messing with his construct would not affect him in the real world, though it might prevent him from jacking back in. Thats besides the physical reality that you could not have the kind of reality without an extremely invasive and software intensive computer system. The console is just the router, the actual computer is in their heads.

Anyone else who thinks otherwise is of course a hethen!
